We help individuals with disabilities grow both personally and professionally by providing mentorship, educational resources, and career guidance.
We break down barriers and ensure access to local, state, and federal resources that are critical for individuals with disabilities to live independently.
We strive to make a tangible impact on the daily lives of individuals with disabilities and their communities through advocacy, direct support, and community initiatives.
We assist individuals in navigating complex systems to find the right resources, support services, and opportunities needed to achieve independence.
We work with care agencies to maintain consistency in attendant-client relationships, preventing unnecessary disruptions that can negatively impact the well-being of individuals with disabilities.
We advocate for improved healthcare access for care attendants, ensuring they receive the benefits they need to continue providing essential support for individuals with disabilities.
We push for increased funding and resources to make care attendant salaries more competitive, reducing turnover and improving the quality of care.
We collaborate with local salons, cosmetology schools, and service providers to offer grooming services such as haircuts, shaving, and nail care for those who cannot afford or manage these tasks on their own.
We identify mobility needs and secure funding for wheelchairs, ramps, vehicle modifications, and other accessibility solutions. We also advocate for improved public space accommodations to ensure accessibility for all.
At Gain Independence Foundation, we believe that independence is not a luxury—it’s a fundamental right. Founded by individuals who have lived the realities of disability and those deeply connected to the cause, our organization exists to bridge the gap between people with disabilities and the resources they need to live empowered, self-sustaining lives. Whether it’s physical or mental challenges, visible or invisible barriers, we are committed to providing financial support, life-enhancing tools, and access to crucial services that enable independence. Our philosophy is rooted in dignity, inclusion, and community. We aim to build a world where no one is forgotten, and every individual—regardless of ability—has the opportunity to thrive. Through advocacy, partnerships, and education, we strive to make independence accessible, sustainable, and celebrated for all.
We are a passionate team of advocates, caregivers, and community leaders dedicated to supporting people with disabilities on their journey to independence. We understand that true independence means more than just physical mobility — it means dignity, choice, opportunity, and the ability to live life on your own terms.
We envision a world where every individual with a disability has the tools, support, and access they need to lead a fully independent and empowered life.
Our mission is to provide the support, resources, and advocacy necessary for individuals with disabilities to lead self-sustaining lives.
I founded Gain Independence Foundation to create a platform that empowers individuals with disabilities to live strong, independent, and fulfilling lives. Living with cerebral palsy, I understand the financial and emotional challenges many face—from wheelchair repairs to home modifications. My vision is to build a space where anyone, regardless of ability, can find support, contribute meaningfully, and feel seen. Over the next 5 to 10 years, I want us to be known not just for what we do, but for how we change lives—locally and nationally
To me, Gain Independence is about stepping in for those who fall through the cracks—individuals who may not qualify for government support but still desperately need financial assistance. Our mission is to help people with disabilities live independently, with dignity and confidence. I’ve seen firsthand through close friends how crucial this support can be. My hope is that in the next 5 to 10 years, GAIN is recognized across every state as a vital asset to the disabled community—a reliable source of hope, resources, and real impact.
Gain Independence is a chance for me to give back to a group of people who are too often overlooked and forgotten. With a family member who is paraplegic, I’ve seen the gaps that exist—access to resources, equipment, support, and real independence. This foundation is about being the one who stands in that gap. Whether it’s building a robust, resource-rich website or forging partnerships with vendors and donors, my goal is to help create something that thrives, changes lives, and maybe even influences legislation one day.
While I haven’t experienced physical disability in my own family, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside friends and colleagues who live with disabilities—and they inspire me daily with their resilience and compassion. GAIN is about giving every individual access to the tools and resources they deserve to live a full life. Over the past three years, supporting Houston and witnessing the challenges he faces firsthand has opened my eyes. This foundation is a chance to fill the gaps—physical or mental—that so many fall through. I believe we are here to serve, and GAIN is our opportunity to create lasting impact, not just locally, but across the nation
As someone born without arms, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to find the right support and consistent, reliable caretakers. The Gain Independence Foundation represents a future where independence isn’t a privilege—it’s a right. I joined this mission because I believe in creating meaningful change through resources, funding, and advocacy. My hope is that GAIN becomes a national force that not only supports individuals with disabilities but also influences policy and creates real, lasting impact.
Being diagnosed with Becker’s Muscular Dystrophy at a young age I understand the need for independence and the financial burden it can be. I am fortunate with economic resources, but realize I am in the minority and want to give back by raising as much money as possible to assist the less fortunate that have disabilities.
When I was paralyzed in 2009, I felt completely alone—uncertain of what to do next and with no one in a similar situation to turn to. That experience showed me just how many gaps exist for people with disabilities. I believe the GAIN Independence Foundation can be the resource I wish I had back then. It has the power to bring the disabled community together, offer mental and emotional support, connect people with financial resources and equipment, and guide individuals through challenges they never expected to face. GAIN Independence can truly become a destination for those seeking not just help, but hope and empowerment.
